Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about applying and the competition.
Who can apply?
Students enrolled at a Portuguese higher education institution, in a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral programme (or equivalent, as long as it is degree-granting). Every team must include at least one such student, and enrolment must remain valid until the end of the 2026/2027 academic year.
Can I apply on my own?
Yes. Individual applications are accepted, as long as the applicant is a student enrolled at a Portuguese higher education institution. Each person may only be part of one project.
Does applying cost anything?
No. Entry to the competition is free.
Which language is the presentation in?
In English. The pitch, the pitch deck, the Idea Pitch Framework and all submitted materials must be entirely in English, and pitches are in person only. Failing to comply is grounds for disqualification.
How are projects assessed?
Assessment has two components: 75% for the Idea Assessment (submitted materials) and 25% for the Pitch Assessment (presentation to the jury). Each juror scores from 0 to 5 points and the final score is the average of the jurors' assessments. The criteria are detailed in the Rules.
When are the results announced?
Results and prizes are announced at a Public Session, at a place and date to be announced, and published on the competition's website and social media. The Semi-Final takes place in March 2027 and the Grand Final in April 2027.
